Aiken Stitchin’ Belles

Aiken Stitchin’ Belles
Aiken, South Carolina

Founded in 2001

The members of the Aiken Stitchin’ Belles Chapter of the EGA live in Aiken (SC), Augusta (GA), and the surrounding CSRA (Central Savannah River Area). The Stitchin’ Belles meet twice a month (a monthly stitch-in and a monthly business meeting/education program). Members participate in a variety of needlework projects involving techniques such as cross stitch, needlepoint, crewel embroidery, hardanger, and beading. We host guest lecturers, instruct each other in needlework skills, tour needlework stores online, and learn from group projects. We have a yearly display of our works at the Aiken Historical Museum. If you have a needle and thread, please come and join us.

Outreach:

In the past, our outreach program has included such activities as stitching bookmarks for the Aiken County Library summer children’s program, making Lydia bags, filling gift boxes for Samaritan’s Purse, stitching Habitat for Humanity samplers for new homeowners, and donating food to the local food pantry. In addition, we support the Aiken County Museum because they allow us to hold our meetings there. We have also donated to local charities.
