The Laurel Chapter

The Laurel Chapter
Hendersonville, North Carolina

Founded in 1990

The Laurel Chapter is a very active group with interest in many different types of embroidery. Some examples are counted thread, cross-stitch, quilting, beading, canvas (needlepoint), stumpwork, temari, hardanger, crewel, goldwork and surface embroidery. Our primary members live in various communities in Western North Carolina, East Tennessee and South Carolina with plural members from farther away.

The Laurel Chapter programs focus on teaching new skills or small projects that build on existing skills.  One of the highlights of our meetings is Show and Tell where members have an opportunity to admire one another’s work. Our chapter library of embroidery books is an excellent resource open to all members. However, our greatest resource is our members who are very generous in sharing their embroidery knowledge with one another.
